Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
CardioScan Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
This commitment aligns with global climate goals to limit global warming to 1.5°C and supports the NHS ambition to reach Net Zero emissions.
CardioScan has committed to the SME Climate Hub, pledging to halve emissions by 2030 and reach Net Zero by 2050.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions.
Baseline Year: 2023
Scope 3 emissions include categories such as purchased goods and services, capital goods, business travel, employee commuting, waste generated in operations and downstream transportation and distribution.
Current Emissions Reporting
Reporting Period: 1 April 2024 – 31 March 2025
Emissions are calculated using the Small Business Carbon Calculator, aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
Emissions Reduction Targets
CardioScan has set the following emissions reduction targets:
25% reduction in emissions by 2026
50% reduction in emissions by 2030
Net Zero emissions by 2050
These targets apply to Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects are being implemented to reduce emissions.
Energy and Operations
Transition to renewable electricity tariffs where feasible
Improve energy efficiency within office operations
Monitor and reduce energy consumption
Travel and Transport
Reduce business travel through increased use of virtual meetings
Prioritise rail and public transport for essential travel
Encourage lower-carbon travel options
Employee Commuting
Support flexible and hybrid working arrangements to reduce commuting emissions
Encourage sustainable commuting options
Supply Chain and Procurement
Engage suppliers in reducing emissions
Consider environmental performance in procurement decisions
Work with logistics providers to reduce transportation emissions
Monitoring and Reporting
CardioScan monitors emissions annually and reports progress against emissions reduction targets. The organisation will continue to refine its carbon reduction initiatives as part of its sustainability strategy.
Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance.
Emissions have been calculated and reported in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the leadership of CardioScan Ltd.
